A broken headlight, a freezer drawer, a cracked cover for an outboard motor, and a fridge handle. These are just some of the items customers have repaired with our plastic welder. A Norwegian customer wrote in their review that they saved 12,000 NOK by repairing parts of their car themselves.
"Our cordless plastic welder is an amazing product that we are very proud of. It makes home repairs much easier," says Torbjörn (Tobbe) Johnsson, Product Manager at Clas Ohlson.
The technology behind the welder was originally developed for use in car workshops, where it was used to repair bumpers, dashboards, and plastic parts of car bodies. Today, it can be used for much more.
In addition to car parts made of plastic, you could repair:
- Buckets and plastic boxes
- Plastic parts for boats, mopeds, and garden machinery
- Plastic toys
- Mudguards for bicycles and motorcycles
"The tool heats up a metal pin which is melted into the crack to hold it together. With the small 'iron part,' you can fill in plastic into the crack and smooth it out. The set includes three different types of plastic for this," explains Tobbe.
"The welder is designed to give you full control over the work. You hold it like a pen, which makes it easy to manoeuvre. It melts the plastic neither too quickly nor too slowly. We have also placed a lamp at the front so you can see what you're doing. Everyone should try repairing more of their broken plastic items instead of throwing them away," says Tobbe.
Do you have anything at home that could be welded together? Fix it, it's good for both your wallet and the environment.
