“It all started when my brother Talal dropped his phone. When he realised how difficult it was to find spare parts and tools to fix it, we saw there was a real need out there. In 2012, we launched Teknikdelar from Talal’s flat,” says Michel Alshammari, co-founder and Head of Purchasing and Assortment at Spares.
The business grew quickly, soon requiring premises and more helping hands. Spares, who serve business customers with spare parts, came in 2019, and a group was established (Spares Europe AB, "Spares") with Talal Alshammari as CEO. Today, the group includes brands such as Teknikdelar and Batteriexperten.
“Through Batteriexperten, we offer over 200,000 battery models for all kinds of devices. We also have a wide range of chargers and other useful products for the home,” Michel explains.
In 2023, Spares became part of the Clas Ohlson Group, united by a shared goal: helping customers extend the lifespan of the things they care about.
“We’re truly excited to be working together to repair more and throw away less,” says Michel Alshammari.
