Clas Ohlson has signed a contract regarding a new store on Drottninggatan 53 in central Stockholm. The total store space amounts to 7 300 square meters of which Clas Ohlson will use 3 000 square meters on the street level for its new store. The retail space will amount to approximately 2 600 square meters. CEO, Klas Balkow commented: “We plan to open one of our largest Clas Ohlson stores on one of Scandinavia's most visited shopping streets, Drottninggatan in Stockholm” says Klas Balkow, President and CEO CEO, Klas Balkow continued: “Our new store in central Stockholm will be a strong complement to our established store in the Gallerian mall. The size of the store will give us the opportunity to present our wide range even better and inspiring than before.” The remaining store space of 4 300 square meters will be sublet by Clas Ohlson to other strong national and international retail chains following an already initiated process. The new Clas Ohlson store is expected to be opened during October/November 2010. Future store establishments that have been contracted to date are: Södertälje, Sweden, in April 2010; Liverpool and Leeds, UK, in April 2010; Kongsberg, Norway, in June 2010; Bryn Senter, Oslo, Norway, in August 2010; Bromma, Stockholm, Sweden, in September 2010; Lambertseter, Oslo, Norway, in October 2010; Drottninggatan, Stockholm, Sweden and Kiruna, Sweden in October/November 2010; Jönköping, Sweden and Lillehammer, Norway, in November 2010; Gränby, Uppsala, Sweden, in March 2011; Bodø and Elverum, Norway, in November 2011; Norrtälje, Sweden, in spring 2012 and Emporia, Malmö, Sweden, during the 2011/2012 financial year. Clas Ohlson will open 14 new stores during the 2009/2010 financial year, of which five in the UK. With currently 117 stores and 16 contracted stores, Clas Ohlson will have a total of 133 stores, of which 63 in Sweden, 47 in Norway, 16 in Finland and seven in the UK.
