There are simple and effective ways to deal with drain blockages without using harsh chemicals.
“One obvious method is to use mechanical tools. We’ve introduced a new drain cleaner brush, which is long and flexible, making it easy to use even in bends. The brush scrubs and loosens blockages, allowing water to flow again, while the bristles catch hair. It’s been selling well from the start,” says Tobbe Johnsson, Product Manager.
Other mechanical methods include the classic drain unblocker and plunger. There’s also the well-proven solution of using vinegar and bicarbonate:
“Pour bicarbonate into the drain, then add vinegar, a little later. The mixture will start bubbling and should be left to work for a while. Then, rinse the drain with hot water,” says Tobbe.
Preventing blockages is also a good idea.
“We recommend using a floor drain filter and a hair trap in the sink. In the kitchen, avoid pouring fatty residues down the drain. Scrape pots and pans with a spatula or scraper before washing them. Regularly maintain water traps and pipes to help prevent blockages from forming in the first place!” says Tobbe Johnsson.
