We have all been affected by the pandemic, not least children in vulnerable situations. As part of our sustainability agenda, we have an on-going collaboration globally with Save the Children, and ahead of the summer we wanted to make a positive impact together with them locally in our sales markets Finland and Sweden.
“It was a pleasure being a part of this and I was so happy we could make a positive impact locally. The children’s home was really glad and grateful and I’m sure they will have wonderful moments during the summer in the safety of their own yard,” says Janni Joonala, Sales Advisor from Raisio Mylly.
As we still have restrictions that are limiting the ways we can enjoy the summer, we wanted to create safe and enjoyable places, where the children can enjoy their summer days. We donated products to the children’s homes and created outdoor spaces for them, where they can spend their summer days and play in. The idea was to bring joy to the most affected during the pandemic in a safe way.
In Finland, we donated products to and decorated their gardens at children’s homes in Vantaa, Turku and Jyväskylä, and in Sweden in Sundsvall, Luleå, Östersund, Göteborg and Gävle.
The locations have been selected by Save the Children to match the needs from their operations in the best way possible.
Our participating stores were Myyrmanni Vantaa, Raisio Mylly and Jyväskylä Seppä in Finland and Birsta Sundsvall, Östersund, Luleå, Göteborg Partille and Gävle City in Sweden.
