Clas Ohlson's business model which is a combination of having a relevant product range, an accessible store network, an e-com business on its own and other platforms, providing a unique customer service and service offering is what caught the jury's eye at the annual Swedish Retail Awards. During a digital prize ceremony on Monday afternoon, Clas Ohlson was presented with an award for both retail chain of the year and omni-channel experience of the year.
“To be awarded Retail chain of the year means a huge deal to us. It reflects how we meet our customers in the store and online, how our knowledge about the products we sell creates added value and our development of new, exciting service concepts. I am so proud of our amazing co-workers and how we work together to simplify our customers' daily lives and provide solutions for every kind of home,” says Johannes Åverling, Operations Manager Sweden at Clas Ohlson.
Peder Apelgren, Clas Ohlson's Chief Digital Officer, has the following comment about the omni-channel experience of the year award:
“It is really cool and is great for boosting morale. This is proof that we are on the right track to simplify our customers' daily lives and to create a customer experience that is equally good no matter in what way our customers choose to purchase our products. We will now continue our efforts to strengthen our product offering and experiences both online and in the physical stores. We are on a very exciting journey and I am so proud that we have been awarded the omni-channel experience of the year.
The reason for the jury's award for retail chain of the year:
”Clas Ohlson has managed to unify a proud tradition with innovative thinking, sustainability and modernism that produces satisfied customers.”
The reason for the jury's award for the omni-channel experience of the year:
“Clas Ohlson is a good example of how a well-established company can be renewed. Stores and e-com go hand in hand when the company takes new steps in offering additional new services. Everything to simplify the customers' daily lives.”
The Retail Awards are arranged every year by Svensk Handel (The Swedish Trade Federation) and the magazine called Market with the purpose of highlighting successful companies, people and investments within retail.
