Reach EC 1907/2006

Reach regulate substances in Annex XVII, annex XIV and on the Reach candidate list. Clas Ohlson’s requirements are described here.

The number of substances on the Reach candidate list is increasing rapidly. Whenever a substance which is present in one of our products is suggested for the candidate list, the supplier must immediately inform Clas Ohlson of this fact. We also need to know the concentration of the substance in the article and what its function is. Clas Ohlson act according to the Swedish definition “once an article – always an article”. Please look here for explanation

Biocidal Products and biocides in articles
EC 528/2012

The Biocidal Product Regulation (BPR, Regulation EC 528/2012) concerns the placing on the market and use of biocidal products to protect humans, animals, materials or articles against harmful organisms, like pests or bacteria, by the action of the active substances contained in the biocidal product.

The Biocidal Products Regulation also sets rules for the use of articles treated with, or intentionally incorporating, one or more biocidal products.

An article may not be treated with a biocidal product unless specifically agreed with Clas Ohlson. If an article is treated with a biocide, the supplier must inform Clas Ohlson on what substance it is, that the substances is registered and approved, and also approved for the specific use in the article.

POP regulation EC 850/2004 on persistent organic pollutants

(amending directive EC 519/2012)

Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants is an international environmental treaty, signed in 2001 and effective from May 2004, that aims to eliminate or restrict the production and use of persistent organic pollutants (POP), addressed as the Stockholm Convention, Regulation EC 850/2004 and EU Regulation EC 519/2012.

All substances listed in the POP regulation are banned in articles and chemical products and shall not be included in any products supplied to Clas Ohlson. Concentration in the product when tested according to standard test methods should be N.D.
