The mail order business that Clas Ohlson started in 1918 in Insjön is now an established European retail business. There are about three thousand staff working in Sweden, Norway, Finland and the UK who all follow our company motto “Making things easier for people to solve their everyday practical problems”. Clas Ohlson is a rapidly expanding retail business with sales of over SEK 5 billion in Sweden, Norway, Finland and the UK. The Head Office lies in the same town where its business operation began in Insjön, Dalarna County. The company has been listed on Stockholm's Stock Exchange (OMX) since 1999.

In both Finland and the UK, sales are conducted through our expanding retail network. Responsibility for the environment, people and society as a whole runs as a common thread throughout our entire business operations and is an important factor for all the decisions we make.
Sustainable development
Our ambition is to find future leaders which will ensure the continued expansion of our company. In response to this need, Clas Ohlson has offered a yearly 18 month trainee programme since autumn 2010. The programme is for any ambitious students with a genuine interest in retail.This programme is based upon the learning and understanding our company culture, business operations, goals and visions. The starting point for this programme begins with our core operations, which means in our stores.The programme also consists of project work in other fields, both in Sweden and abroad, and will include seminars within the fields of Purchasing, Finance, Sales, Retail Expansion, HR and IT.Both a mentor and a job coach will be available for the entire programme.
To guarantee training quality and to ensure that our trainees receive the best possible training, only a limited number of candidates will be chosen.The selection criteria for being accepted into the programme are good academic achievement, thesis work and extracurricular activities.
